About CastleHotels.org

An independent guide to castle stays

CastleHotels.org helps you find a place to stay in a castle in the UK, and tells you honestly what kind of castle it is. We've checked thousands of UK places to stay that use the word 'castle'. Only around one in seven turns out to be a genuine castle stay.

We rate every stay on our Castle Authenticity Scale, based on the building's history, and we say if you will sleep inside the historic walls. Each review has a What we'd flag section with the things a hotel's own website tends to leave out.

What we are not

We are not a booking site. When you click Check prices you go to Booking.com, which handles the booking. We are not paid by hotels for reviews, and a paid listing, if we ever carry one, will be labelled Sponsored and will not change its level.
