Castle elopements and small weddings

Small weddings in castles, from two people upwards.

An elopement at a castle usually means a very small ceremony, sometimes just the two of you and two witnesses, followed by a night or two in the castle. The castles below host weddings according to their own websites and are either rented whole or have 20 bedrooms or fewer, which tends to suit small groups.

Marriage law differs between Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland, including notice periods and where a ceremony may take place. Check the rules with the registration service for the country you choose before you fix a date.
